Cale Parks (of Aloha) has got a new solo LP on Polyvinyl entitled Illuminated Manuscript which was realeased on Monday, and it has to be said it is very nice indeeeeeeed . Described as an intimate but intricate bedroom ambient electronic sound, perfect for those dark, wet, Autumnal evenings indoors.

Canadian indietronic outfit The London Apartments have a new EP out entitled Logistics & Navigation. With influences listed as The Notwist, Sigur Ros, and The Postal Service, Danielle Sabelli's almost whispered vocals along with slow layered geetar's and electronic samples all combine to make for a great listen. Head over to their MySpace for a sample.

So I think pretty much every kind of kid likes Klaxons with their paisley day-glo style and jangly jangly noisy guitars and sizzly sizzly analog synths. Crystal Castles however are perhaps in a bit more of a niche, for afficionados of vintage computer game music melted and re-created into something completely special! Crystal Castles did a remix of Klaxons - "Atlantis To Interzone" and boy, oh boy its a treat, here:

Klaxons - Atlantis To Interzone (Crystal Castles Remix)

If I had the money, I would be decorating my bedroom in this for sure! MAGNETIC WALLPAPER @ £65per roll. Invention of the year.

With the mass influx of Polish persons into Britain, Max Tundra has obviously decided it's time for a bit of role reversal. He's playing 5 dates in 5 unpronouncable Polish cities (e.g. Bydgoszcz) this Ocober. He's also apparently busy working on a third album for Domino. Aside from making amazingly unique and sometimes bizarre solo electronica albums, Max Tundra (Ben Jacobs) is a top exponent of the "remix" Everyone's favourite being this:

Took delivery of my Tap Tap t-shirt today that I'd ordered from Catbird. Good news, it fits like a dream and my dilemma of what to wear for work tomorrow is thus solved! Tap Tap's album Lanzafame is firmly fixed in my top 3 for the year, with its bedroom-y imperfection making it all sound oh how good! You can read the Pitchfork review here, and pick up your copy here.

First off, i've never blogged before so don't expect any groundbreaking blogging techniques. Do expect, however, a mediocre blog of all things great and musical that please me. Anything from 8-bit chiptunes, right through to mega-twee-indie-pop! That said....... Let's start.

So I went to see my favourite Swedish band of the moment Hemstad play the other week, amidst a crowd of middle aged, middle class folk who were clearly not there to see Hemstad. Still, they made themselves heard and produced a rip-roaringly good show. Chris and Ake being the nice guys they are also gave me some CD's of their solo projects Das Kometen and James Ausfahrt respectively. FUN and ROMP are the words that comes to mind. See for yourself.

Also discovered theres more to Belgian electro than Stijn and Soulwax too. Belgian electro merchants GOOSE bring us a grinding disco pulse and insistent four to the floor stomp with single release ‘Black Gloves’. It’s a tune that you could run around walls to - and I’ve got the footprints on my fridge door to prove it! It serves as a wonderful reminder of Belgium’s third area of expertise, not usually acknowledged with such widespread appreciation as the nation’s excellent beer and chocolate-making skills. Also the video is 24 kinds of awesome! CHECK!
