Tiki GoddessDanton Eeprom and
Ivan Smagghe show they have no boundaries when they team up as
La Horse. To quote the press release: '
Strange voices, tortured guitars, pumpin' bass, and silly organs are some of the creatures that you'll meet during this spaced-out trip. It's rough, hot and mental, reflecting Smagghe and Eeprom way of seeing music, fee from codes and beyond genres. To make a long story short, be sure it's gonna divide the critics and the audience, so take it or leave it "Cyanide and Happiness" is uncompromisingly unique.' Personally I love it. The other side of this release also sees Eeprom turn the track into a dancefloor friendly beast.Taken from the
Reducks 12" released on Cologne's
Areal records.
Fairmont is capable of great things, I love it.
Uncompromising bass driven techno from
Broombeck. Break out the sirens for the
Protect Your Neck vinyl.
Away from techno to gig-related matters. It seems like an eternity since I first heard
Midnight Juggernauts (Tombstone was the track). Finally get to see them tomorrow, and I must admit that while my enthusiasm for live bands has faded I am pretty excited for this - midweek gigs in languid market towns for the win! Midnight Jugs have been remixed to death. Recently the excellent
Chateau Marmont did one, it was pretty good but their own material (and that
Koko von Napoo mix) is much better.

Style Of Eye is without doubt one of the hottest Techno producers at the moment. His latest offering on
Pickadoll is a 2 part affair called
Duck Over And Hold. The guy is talented, and you can catch him in the UK later this month and into October.
Off the new
Tsugi compilation there's a few good ones. Nikit reminds me a lot of
SebastiAn. Then you've got
Prins Thomas shaving 7 minutes of
Lindstrom's Grand Ideas. Lovely to see Lindstrom's new record being spoken of so highly by such a broad spectrum of people.
Nice weekend all.

WidmestMule Musiq is full of the good stuff. The first track 'Tonight' is from last years
Mule Disco vinyl and shows just how good German duo Ame are at crafting a track that dreamily weaves it's way into your head. Second up shows their hypnotic ways with the tribalistic looping remix of
Koss' track 'Earth', again released on the super Mule.
Mudd & Pollard crack out the Balaeric sound on this beauty that floats along ever so gracefully. It's got pianos, synths, xylophones and swishy synth noises. That is all.
Paul McCartney's post-Beatles act
Wings get the edit treatment from
Woolfy. On the vinyl released on
Mindless Boogie the track is entitled
A Pint A Day and is accompanied by two other gems. I fully intend to use 'The Growler' on a future mix.

'But I don't like minimal techno' - Then have some edits that table at opposite ends of the intensity spectrum. Ireland's
Burglar Tom taking on the KLF and Parisian obscurist
Romain BNO editting some old beauties for

Volume OneHi,
A track I remember loving as a kid. Now given the workover by
Rune Lindbaek. Thanks to
Sci-Fi Pogo for this.
Ensemble Pittoresque were an experimental Dutch synth-pop band who recorded just one album back in 1983. Subsequent re-releases are shrouded in controversy and original vinyl pressing are highly sought after. This track Auratorium reminds me of something TV On The Radio might do. Aceness.
Lo Recordings will release
Hatchback's debut album
Colors Of The Sun later this month. The San Franciscan producer of cosmic glory has already released the above 2 tracks as singles on
THISISNOTANEXIT. Trust me the rest is just as nice.
And to finish a track from a couple of years back by Japanese disco duo
Force Of Nature.
