Loud E - Robolove (alt link)

Bogdan Irkuk a.k.a. Bulgari - Jewel Of The Black Sea (Ultracity Remix) (alt link)

Some superb work from Loud E on the track Robolove which is an edit of Love Robot's 1978 track Slaves Of Pleasure. Released on the super ace Ambassador's Reception label. Then roll with Ultracity who did this top remix for Bogdan Irkuk's Coastal EP.

Dutch electronic legend I-f did this mix back in 2001, and the tracks on it have to go down as a big influence on the resurgent italo-disco scene. Brilliant mixing and a solid gold track listing. Essential listening.

I-f is doing 2 of the tastier holiday camp festivals early on next year, BLOC weekend at Butlin's Minehead and Bangface at Camber Sands (yay). Both have really good line-ups. Zomby is also playing the Bangface weekender, and his heavily rave influenced dubstep has been doing all sorts to me of late. Get the Where Were U In '92? LP here.

Ryan Davis. Brilliant. Like all your favourite Border Community artists combined into one. You can get Wide Open Spaces here and the Clouds Passing By Remix pack here.

Unrelenting stuff from Control Voltage. Another fine Dissident release.

Control Voltage - The Bounce (alt link)

Polish Film Posters are amazing. Who'd think you could make Crocodile Dundee 2 look like some high brow art house flick? Browse the collection here.

Juan Trip' and his latest album Fireplace has wowed me into a state of contentment, feeling the cold? Get this on. 23 tracks of exquisite psychedelic content. It's a testament to Citizen Records too, proving they are about much more than full on electronic music. A great release. For fans of obscure '60s and '70s psych and in the realms of modern 'cool', Beyond The Wizards Sleeve and maybe even Battles in the odd instance.

Juan Trip' - She's On A Trip' (alt link)

Juan Trip' - Critical Mass Explode (Kissing The Floor) (alt link)

You know i've said how this year has been good for compilations. Add another one to the list. Versatile Records 2008 Compilation. A sublime blend of italo disco, acid-house and kraut rock. Featuring tracks from Joakim and Fabrice Lig and remixes from Danton Eeprom and Ame. Really good stuff from Versatile as usual. Get it here.

Chateau Flight - La Roquette (alt link)

The Cave Bear Cult - Keep On Keepin' On (alt link)

Popnoname - Touch (The Field Remix) (alt link)

Typically outstanding work from The Field on this remix of Popnoname's new track Touch, that's taken from his latest LP Surrounded By Weather. A great follow up to last years White Album.

Popnoname - Mother Earth (alt link)

Ost & Kjex seem fuelled by cheese. They put some Scissor Sisters-esque vocals to the Solomun track Federgewicht and the result is actually quite satisfying given how cheesy it is. Then they turn their hand to some killer techno on Foodchild, a track which has been embedding itself in my head at various times over the last few months.

Solomun Vs. Ost & Kjex - Federgewicht (Oslo Version) (alt link)

To stray off electronic music for a moment. Proof that seeing a band live can change your opinion of them was had when I saw White Denim on Saturday, having not reckoned that much to them on record I bore witness to a great show. Their drummer is seriously good. Further pleasant surprises were had when it turned out there was a Justice, Busy P etc after party also at Korova too which was pretty wicked in spite of stolen drinks, lack of money, and friends not lasting the distance :( amazing scenes nonetheless. Sad fact: If you think you've got enough money to last the evening, you are wrong.

Also, if you are in the UK, check out the new series of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe on BBC iPlayer. Amazing scenes.

Apologies for the lack of update in the last week. I was down in London in part, and mega short on time. Well done to Proxy for totally killing it on Saturday, an amazing night with the exception of the worst smell in history lurking in the toilets all night :(

Here's some tunes. I've been loving the Skatebard album Cosmos, really good vibes and genuine quality throughout. Get it here.

Skatebard - Gamble Furutrær (alt link)

Skatebard - React 2 Rhythm (alt link)

And an assortment of good tunes.

Icasol - Ongou (alt link)

Mit - Rauch (Luke Abbott Remix) (alt link)

Lurifax - Need Someone (alt link)

Warp records rarely go wrong, and they certainly haven't in the acquisition of Glaswegian dubstep and grime titan Rustie who has produced some sterling remixes of Warp acts Jamie Lidell and Pivot in recent months. Looking forward to seeing him on Saturday in support of Proxy. Rustie destroys what was my favourite dance track of 2007 on the latest Bpitch Control release, Modeselektor Remixed. With the other track here take from his killer debut EP Jagz The Smack. Heavy stuff.

Modeselektor - Black Block (Rustie Remix) (alt link)

Morgan Geist remixed by Carl Craig. Two legendary names. Taken from the 12" Detroit EP released on Environ back in September.

Morgan Geist - Detroit (c2RMX1) (alt link)

Might I also point you to the incredible piece by Carl Craig & Moritz Von Oswald where they take on the classical works of Maurice Ravel and Modest Mussorgsky. It comes in 6 movements with interlude and to be fully appreciated probably should be listened to in full, not just a snippet, it's mesmerising as each movement builds on the last. That and Optimo's Sleepwalk compilation have served me well in the recent late nights.

Tuxedomoon - In A Manner Of Speaking

Massive post ahoy.

It's been a while since I posted some good lo-fi tuness. Nite Jewel are creating a stir in all the right places. The LA act deliver up some gorgeous lo-fi pop tunes with noticeable influence from cohorts Ariel Pink and Glass Candy.

Nite Jewel - What Did He Say (alt link)

Nite Jewel - Artificial Intelligence (alt link)

I posted some Blank Dogs a few yonks back, they've got plenty of new tracks about and are sounding better and better all the time. <3

Blank Dogs - Army Crash (alt link)

Now if you're on a voyage of musical discovery and wish to lose yourself for a few hours or more, look no further than DonnaSlut. There you will find a collection of the obscurest jams of now and then, ripped from vinyl into mp3 and presented in a refreshingly simple way. Brilliant.

Port Of Notes - Walk Through Happiness (Lindstrom Remix Radio Edit) (alt link)

Aardvarck - Cult Copy (Mix 1) (alt link)

Vastkustska Ryggdunkarsallskapet - Mozzarella Morning (alt link)

And while on the music site tips. Gabba is another great community for the often overlooked brilliance.

Yves Simon - Au Pays Des Merveilles De Juliet (Sweetlight Unreleased Edit) (alt link)

Le Dust Sucker - It All Comes Down (alt link)

Well, that was possibly the highest quality post for some time. Next week, look out for a spot of heavy bass and electro distortion as I ready myself for an encounter with Rustie and Proxy next Saturday.

It's always a risky thing doing a cover of an artist or song that is highly regarded. But if it comes off well, then it was totally worth it. It's a couple years old now, but Plantains take on the all-time classic I Feel Love by Moroder and Donna Summer works just beautifully.

Plantains - I Feel Love (alt link)

Belgium is a hub of goodness when it comes to the cosmic/disco thing. Rubber Room are sounding very promising, their track Cockroach is featured on the new Eskimo Compilation and will surely appeal to fans of Lindstrom et al.

Rubber Room - Cockroach (alt link)

A Mountain Of One have this way of putting me at ease when I listen to their tracks. This remix of a Takahashi Kuniyuki song is no exception, there's always an air of nonchalance about their productions, effortlessly cool or something. A collection of Kuniyuki remixes are available here.

Kuniyuki - Touch (A Mountain Of One Peyote Remix) (alt link)

Check out Booooooom! for some nice things to look at.

Spectral Sound, the slick subsidiary label of Ghostly International have just released a few superb remixes on a 12". Remixes by Onur Ozer, Barem and Lucio Aquilina. Get it here.

Daso - Meine (Lucio Aquilina Remix) (alt link)

Matzak impresses on the Blackout EP, delivering some glorious tech-house and a gem of a title track.

Matzak - Blackout (alt link)

Wareika follow up the brilliant 'Impulse' with a new one called 'Belonging' this time released on Eskimo. They've had previous dealings with Eskimo when they released Riders On The Storm, an 11-minute take on The Doors' legendary track.

Wareika - Riders On The Storm (alt link)

Underwater is the new one from Mock & Toof out on DFA. The demo version is just sublime.

Droid is the new 12" release by The Idjut Boys. Two unnamed tracks. Simple, dark, percussion filled disco killers. Grab the vinyl from here.

Check out Civil Music. They've recently released what could possibly be the best track you will hear for some time, i've been playing it pretty much all weekend when i've had chance and can see it setting dancefloors alight. Track in question? Drums Of Death and his mindblowing re-work of Escort's track Starlight. The Drums Of Death vinyl is limited to 500 copies and you can grab your copy or lossless download HERE. Civil Music also has a lot more coming up too. I'm particularly looking forward to an EP release from experimental pop wizards, Javelin.
